Fun fact: Temple of Literature is a mistranslation of the name. Văn Miếu is actually a temple to serve Confucius (Khổng Tử — 孔子). Back in the day of the Tang Empire, Khổng Tử was name by the Emperor as Văn Tuyên Vương (the word Văn in Văn Miếu was his first name). It just happened that Văn Miếu is also the first university, therefore, people (even Vietnamese) associated the word Văn to Literature (Văn in Vietnamese is literally translated to literature). That is why when translated to English, people forgot the real meaning of the temple and literally translated the name into Văn (Literature) — Miếu (Temple)
