After taking a rest in Nha Trang, we hit the road again on day nine of our motorbike journey across Vietnam, heading into the central highlands toward Buôn Ma Thuột. The day started off promising with a late but sunny departure, but that quickly shifted after a surprise flat tire forced us to pull over in a quiet rural town. Thankfully, the locals were incredibly kind and helpful—one woman even walked Dave to a repair shop while we hung out and connected with the neighborhood kids who were fascinated by the drone and cameras. We powered through winding roads, dodging scattered showers, and eventually got our first real sunlight in over a week. We stopped for roadside coffee and mystery fried snacks, then booked a $12 hotel for the night. The ride totaled about seven hours, but somehow it flew by. Once we arrived, we explored the town, grabbed an amazing bowl of bún chả with grilled meat, spring rolls, and corn tea, then stocked up on essentials at a nearby grocery store—including a few too many snacks. We wrapped up the night testing out Hanoi beef pho–flavored Lays chips, which were surprisingly addictive.
