My dad named my middle name “Kontiem” after him being in the Vietnam war in 1970. I guess you can call it an American version of kontum.

I found your video tonight and enjoyed the scenery. It didn't look like that 53 years ago when I was there. I was stationed at Camp Enari in Pleiku, During their Lunar New ear ( TeT ) when everything hit the fan! we were sent to Kon Tum to reinforce a camp there.That was 3 days and nights of hell! Glad to see a peaceful serene beautiful place now.

Central Highland is home of indigenous Montagnard Jarai, Bana …. In 1975 millions ethnic Kinh Vietnamese flooded in to the region, Today Central Highland become VN
